Mia Perry Bowick

Hi, I’m Mia.

I consider myself a lifelong explorer of this thing called being human.

After a brief stint pursuing a career in the theater, I spent over a decade as a psychotherapist and drama therapist, working with teens, adults, couples, and families facing mental health and substance use disorders as they explored and healed their human experience.

I hold a Master of Arts in Applied Theatre Arts and a Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology with an emphasis in Depth Psychology. I’m a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, a Registered Drama Therapist, and I’ve trained internationally in various healing and spiritual processes.

All of which is to say: I have a whole lot of experience in exploration methods, I’m very comfortable with big feelings, and I love a good metaphor.

After the untimely loss of my brother, I felt called to lay my therapist cardigan to rest. I began writing more, speaking more, and gathering folks in circles to explore the intersections of grief, creativity, and collective healing.

That path eventually led to founding a nonprofit organization called Cassia Collective.

I now spend my days creating exploratory spaces through writing, facilitating and speaking.

My hope is to encourage others to live from their authentic truths by modeling this personally, acting as a mirror for others to see themselves reflected in, and sharing some of the knowledge I’ve gathered through my own explorations.

In my downtime, you can find me investigating my new home state of Colorado with my husband, kids and dogs, curled up with a good book or hitting the hell out of a tennis ball.
